Cascade opened as a junior high in 1963 and underwent various minor remodels before undergoing an “extrememake-over” as it opened as a smaller middle school in the fall of 2005.  Despite the many changes over the years, Cascade has maintained a focus on academic excellence and engaging student activities.

Students at Cascade come from many of the district’s elementary schools and make up a student body of about 475 students in grades 6-8.  At each grade, the staff considers the developmental needs of middle schoolers in designing programs and activities that reach a wide range of interests and performance levels.

We will have a safe and welcoming environment where students will experience academic rigor and prepare to be career, college and community ready. Students will receive the message, “You are important, you can do it, I will not give up on you.”

Our students represent a cross section of our community. They are developing the skills, attitudes and knowledge to become responsible citizens in a rapidly changing society.

At Cascade, students understand that one of the expectations for all students is that they know what it means to be a learner.  It is critical that students understand what it is that they are to learn in each class each day.  They also need to know what they have to do to demonstrate their learning.  Evidence of learning needs to be observable in all classes.
