Part of our vision here at Cascade Middle School is to expose our students to different career and college options. On Tuesday April 9th we will be hosting a Career and College Day here on campus. Our 6th graders will be involved in a career fair where 35 different careers will be represented, and professionals from those careers will be here to meet and talk with our students. This year Monticello and Mt. Solo 6th graders will be joining Cascade for the event.
Career options 6th graders will see include: Architect, Nurse, Auto Repair, Banking, Travel Agent, Accountant, Chef, Chiropractor, General Contractor, Small Business Owner, Engineer, Probation Officer, County Water Department, Electrician, Educator, Firefighter, Forestry, Interior Decorator, Landscaping, Law Enforcement, Judge, Lawyer, Longshoreman, Military, Millwright, Sound Engineer, Non-Profit, Graphic Design, Communications, Realtor, Plumber, Pipefitter, Welder, X-Ray Technician, Fish & Wildlife, Doctor, and Computer Programmer.
Seventh graders will be touring Lower Columbia College to see what higher-education opportunities exist here in Longview. And our 8th graders will be headed north to visit Saint Martin’s University, a four year university in Lacey, WA.
Our vision is to ensure that all students recognize their career and college options. We appreciate all of our community members who support our efforts.
